INTRODUCTION


     Every student of University Malaysia Kelantan in 3rd semester who took Travel and Tour Management subject (HTS 20103) is required to carry out an assignment for the semester. In a group of 7 to 8 people with a leader who was chosen by the group members, should choose and take a visit to a well-known travel agency in Kelantan or Terengganu areas and study on the product development and business environment at a particular organization. As that, my team members and I from class K202D (L1), Dr. Roslizawati Binti Che Aziz as our lecturer, carried out this assignment which should be submitted on the 11th week of the semester.

     The aim of this project is to identify different opportunities and ideas for the development of new travel agency products compared to older products. Present market trends towards new technologies and concepts caused us to focus on a practicable and effective business strategy by offering new product ideas and improving existing products with the potential for future growth and expansion. The study is based on qualitative data and secondary data is based on the value of the Travel agency business strategy and the overall significance of brand strategies. The understanding of their competition and services by the customer along with their future goals is evaluated empirically predicting the future market. This project's main theoretical perspectives are concentrated on method analysis of production and priority is on the product.

     The main objective of this assignment is to evaluate the understanding and knowledge of travel agency business principles and methods used by students. Secondly, this assignment teaches people the latest tourism and travel developments and activities. This assignment also has an objective to explain the various departments and what is the responsibility of each department and how they operate as one of the best travel agencies and also to develop adequate knowledge and skills applicable to travel industry with the new product development strategy.

BACKGROUND OF THE COMPANY 

        The company Al-Ilmi Travel And Tours Sdn Bhd was established in 2005. The main activity at the beginning of its establishment was to be a partner in the company that operates the Umrah Package. Now after 8 years of its founding, Al-Ilmi Travel has its own License (KPK / LN 7443 for inbound, outbound and ticketing) and produces its own travel products. Apart from Umrah, Al-Ilmi Travel also operates its own Overseas tourism activities such as Turkey, China, Korea, Vietnam and others. To date, Al-Ilmi travel has over 50 representatives / agents nationwide.



BACKGROUND OF COMPANY IN KELANTAN (Al-ILMI TRAVEL & TOURS)

     Al-Ilmi Travel and Tours Sdn. Bhd is one of the famous travel agency in Kelantan. The headqauters of the agency is at Ampang and the official address is No.32-1, Jalan AWF 3, Ampang Water Front, 68000 Ampang, Selangor. The agency will be operating from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. on every Monday till Friday and the operating hours on every Saturday will be at 9 a.m. till 1 p.m. Al- Ilmi Travel and Tours Sdn. Bhd was established on the year of 2005. The main activity at the beginning of the establishment was to be a partner in the company that operates the Umrah Package. This agency actually has its own license (KPK / LN 7443 for inbound, outbound and ticketing and has started producing its own tourism products after 8 years of existence. Futhermore, Al-Ilmi Travel and Tours conduct their own overseas tourism activities such as Turkey, China, Korea, Vietnam, Pakistan, Iran and others. But so far there is no tourism activities conducted around our country. Adding on, they has over 50 representatives or also known as agents nationwide.

      There are few advantages of Umrah with Al-Ilmi Travel and Tours. Firstly, we could appreciate the Adventure of Science and Charity with a number of tazkirah programs. All the participants will be given enough course before a trip to the Holy Land. Each Umrah package will be followed by an experienced Religious Teacher as the Umrah Guide. Moreover, the distance between hotel accommodation and illegal mosque is just 150-400 meters away. On the other hand, the tourists could enjoy a picnic in the desert with Arab rice meal prayers of pilgrimage and tazkirah from the mosque teachers. The other advantages of Umrah with Al-Ilmi Travel and Tours would be that the tourists will be guided by mutawifs and will be headed by the head of a delegation from Malaysia throughout Mekah and Madinah.
